Page layout

  • I'm not sure if I like the layout of the page. Anyone have any ideas how we could improve it? It just seems a little chaotic and unstructured. DarkAlpha 10:38, 10 January 2007 (CET)
  • I'm pretty new to this kind of thing and I'm reading up on wiki formatting/structuring atm. I really like the idea of a menubar but at the 200px width it is now, it sometimes messes with layout of the page. Also I don't like all the different colors, that is one of the reasons this page looks chaotic IMO. When I have time, I'll try and come up with some ideas and put them on my user page. • Ok, I've put up an idea for a menubar on my user page. Tell me what you think.
  • Oops, forgot to sign my post above.. well it's from yesterday. Anyway, I updated the menubar on my user page, you can now expand items with parameters. The template is here. Bucko 19:05, 11 January 2007 (CET)
Hmm. Tricky :) I would have to agree that your menu is much clearer to read and find what your looking for and also, being much smaller is an advantage too, especially when we think about people running at lower resolutions. Not so sure I agree with the colours making the page look chaotic though. I think the chaos is caused by the too much text in the menu bar - a problem which your version does not have. A problem I do find with your menu is that section headers are not very distinct. It may look better if the blue shading extended across the whole width of the menu bar. I think I'll play around with some ideas too and see what happens DarkAlpha 18:46, 12 January 2007 (CET)
