Okay.

Keine Ahnung :) [[User:Samv|Samv]] 19:59, 22 June 2006 (CEST)
Samvhttps://enwiki.tvbrowser.org/index.php?title=User_talk:Samv&diff=1686User talk:Samv2006-06-22T17:49:55Z
Samv:

Dear Samv, thank you for pointing out that I have accidentally translated pages (with a slightly different name) that had already been translated. But it wasn't nice at all to delete these without informing me before. My translation was better in certain respects compared to the original translations and could have been merged. Now, I cannot find the content anywhere and it seems to be lost. What a shame. ElGreco, 06/22/2006

The TV listings in TV-Browsers are loaded by special [[Plugin|plugins]] we call DataServices. This allows us to add new channels to TV-Browser arbitrarily ().
Die TV-Daten werden in TV-Browser über spezielle Plugins - wir nennen sie DataServices - geladen. Auf diese Weise läßt sich TV-Browser beliebig um weitere Sender erweitern (provided that someone has access to the listings and writes a corresponding DataService).

This tutorial describes the basic steps for developing a DataService. For further help we recommend the [http://www.tvbrowser.org/providetvlistings.php TvDataStarterKit] and looking at the [[For Developers|JavaDoc documentation]] of TV-Browser as well as the source code of the existing DataServices.

== Setting up the development environment ==

Add the Jar file
tvbrowser.jar
(this can be found in the TV-Browser installation directory) to the Java class path.

== Implementing ==

Develop a class that implements the
tvdataservice.TvDataService
interface.

Notes:
* To continue using TvDataServices of TV-Browser version 0.9.7 they have to inherit the abstract class AbstractOldTvDataServiceBridge (or implement the new interface).
* Instead of implementing the TvDataService interface directly you can also use the class
util.tvdataservice.AbstractTvDataService
.
* All methods of this class are called by the host application (i.e., TV-Browser) and thus constitute entry points of the plugin.
* The class has to be contained in a package of the same name as the class in lowercase.

==Creating the Jar file==

Next, you need to pack the DataService into a single file, to make installing and providing it to other people simpler.

The following command creates the Jar file:

jar cvf MyTVDataService.jar mytvdataservice

'''Important:''' The name of the Jar file has to be identical to the class name (including the lowercase/uppercase letters).

==Installation==

Copy the newly created Jar file into the ''dataservice'' directory of your TV-Browser installation. Finally, restart TV-Browser and use your DataService by clicking ''Update...'' in the menu ''TV listings''.

=FAQ=

==Which cinemas are available for TV-Browser?==

Crasline currently offers the schedule from the "Bretwand" cinemas (Starnberg, Seefeld, Herrschin).

From now on all cinemas from "CineStar" in over 80 cities (~100 cinemas) are available. They also cover some small cinemas (ie Lichtspielhaus, Capitol,...). An overview of cities and cinemas is available at the [http://www.cinestar.de/html/site.php CineStar Homepage].

Also available [http://www.cineworld-main.de/ Cineworld] cinema from Mainfrankenpark.

Also the "Hollywood Megaplex" cinemas from austria (2x Vienna, Linz, Innsbruck,...) are available

==When is my cinema from my town available?==
Perhaps soon, perhaps never.

The situation with the cinema-schedule is the same as with the TV-schedule: The data will be available, when there is someone providing them. [[Providing_TV_listings|But you can do it on your own!]]

==How can i provide a cinema-guide?==

It is the same procedure as if you offer the TV-schedule.

* Ask your cinema if you are allowed to use and provide the data

* Read the [[Providing_TV_listings | Provide TV listings]]

For any problems please use our [http://forum.tvbrowser.org/ Forum] we will help you!

==How can add the cinema-guide?==
If you are using TV-Browser 2.1, you can use the Channel groups refresh within the settings.

For older versions (sorry only 1:1 translation, i've never seen a previous version;( ):

* Click "Settings" -> "TvDataServices" -> "TV-Browser"
* Open "Channel groups"
* Click "Add"
* Now you can type in the URL to the cinema guides
** '''Breitwand''': <nowiki>http://kinotvbrowser.tagus.de/breitwand</nowiki>
** '''CineStar''': <nowiki>http://kinotvbrowser.tagus.de/cinestar</nowiki>
** '''Cineworld''': <nowiki>http://kinotvbrowser.tagus.de/cineworld</nowiki>
** '''Hollywood Megaplex''': <nowiki>http://tv.hermann.czedik.net/megaplex</nowiki>
** '''Wiesbaden Caligari''': <nowiki>http://www.xata.de/tvbrowser/cinevents</nowiki>

* On the channellist click the "Refresh-Button". Afterwards on the left side the cinemas will apear and you can add your choise of cinemas to the channel list.

* refresh the TV-data

==I recieve the error "No mirror found for group"==
* Check you internet connection?
* Check your firewall?
* Is the URL typed correctly?

==Are there some other hints for me?==
Sure! To seperate the TV-Channels from cinemas you can setup a filterrule. So it is quite easy to switch between TV and cinema schedules. For more information have a look at [[Filterrules | Fitlerrules]] or [[Filterrules_-_Example:_Subtitle | Filterrules - Example: Subtitle]] (to be translated).

PrimaryDataServices (PDS) are small Java programs that collect TV listings and information about channels (name, time zone etc.) and provide the shows (day, time, name, description etc.).

These Java programs are needed for the processing of TV listings for TV-Browser. See [[Providing TV listings]].

Required skills:
* Using a command line/terminal
* Configuring software using text files
* '''Creating programs''' that read websites or other sources and convert them to other formats. The language you use to do this doesn't matter. It should be possible to use anything like VB or Java. Without such a program you would need to convert the data manually. '''We strongly discourage converting the data manually!'''

The operating system doesn't matter, the tools are written in Java and should run on any platform that runs TV-Browser.

==Providing TV listings==

There are three possibilities to get your listings into TV-Browser:

===Excel/XML===

We wrote a little tool to enter and extract data for one channel in a Excel sheet (we call such tools ''[[Primary Data Service]]'' or ''[[Primary Data Service|PDS]]'').

Alternatively, it's possible to enter and extract the data to and from an XML file.

How this works is explained in the [[TV Listings Tutorial|tutorial]]. It also explains the other tools you need to prepare the data.

===Primary Data Service===

There is also the possibility of writing your own [[Primary Data Service|PDS]] that reads the data from a website or some other source. Ofcourse, to implement such a service you have to know Java programming. If you do know Java read the [http://www.tvbrowser.org/downloads/docs/providetvdata_v1.1_de.pdf guide] about how to proceed.

====Tips====

* [[Processing Listings - Automatic conversion from Word/Excel to TXT/CSV using OpenOffice]]

===TV-Data Services===

The third way to provide your listings is to program so called [[Plugin#TV-Data Services|TV-Data Services]]. (See [[Tutorial: Development of a TvDataService]]). These will be loaded directly into TV-Browser as a [[Plugin]]. An example of such a plugin is the [[NextViewDataService]].

This third possibility should only be used in special cases. The development is much more involved than for a PDS, and everyone who wants to use your service needs to install a plugin, while in the PDS case he only needs to enter an URL.

==More tips==

=== TV listings usage permit ===

To be allowed to use the listings of different TV/Radio stations an official permit of the broadcasting service is needed. An example mail can be found on the [http://wiki.tvbrowser.org/index.php/Eigene_TV-Daten_anbieten#Weitere_Tipps german site].

You should use friendly, but decisive wording.

'''Important:''' Don't forget to provide them with your name, address and phone number!

The Search Plugin makes provides a tool to search the data of TV-Browser.

You can restrict the search to a certain period of time und a certain search field. For instance you can only search in the search field "Actor". Please pay attention to the [[Program data quality]]. Therefore you can for instance search for broadcasts with the word ''Documentary'' appearing in their description.

Other provided search options are:
{|
|valign=top|"Match exactly"|| hear the text has to match exactly for the broadcast to appear on the results list. You can for instance separate between the two programmes ''Enterprise'' and ''Star Trek: Enterprise''. So with ''Godfather'' you won´t find ''The Godfather'', you would have to search for ''The Simpsons''.
|-
|valign=top|"Keyword"|| hear it is enough for the search text to appear in the field. In this case a search for "Godfather" would also find "The Godfather" or "The Godfather Part II".

==Introduction==

Everyone with a bit of programming experience can provide channels for TV-Browser. These channels will then be displayed in TV-Brower as so called "channel groups". To use channel lists which are not included by default you first have to add their URLs in [[Settigs]] -> [[Settings:TVDataServices|TVDataServices]] -> TV-Browser -> Channel groups.

==Update the channel groups==

To get channel groups from other 3rd-party providers displayed in TV-Browser you have to update the list of available channel groups.

Do do this go to [[Settings]] -> [[Settings:Channels table|Channels table]] -> Channel groups and click the "Refresh list" button. Please note that you have to be online to do this.

After the update new channel groups have been added to the list. Next you have to activate the channel groups you need. To do that simply choose the appropriate group and click the Enable button. It's recommended to select the needed channel groups only.

If you want to read some information about a certain channel group just select it and click the Info button.

==Update channels==

In [[Settings]] -> [[Settings:Channels table|Channels table]] -> Channels click "Update channel list". The newly selected channels will show up in the left listbox. To subscribe to a channel just move it to the right listbox using the appropriate buttons in the middle. To finally add the new channels click Apply and finally update your TV listings.

== Introduction==

Important note: This is '''only for developers''' that '''know what they are doing'''. A normal user should not try to follow this guide. We will not provide any support for any problems that may occur with this guide or SVN. It also has to be assumed that not all features are complete and/or bug free.

So, don't complain if this version of TV-Browser gets lost in data nirvana ;-)

To get TV-Browser from [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subversion_%28software%29 SVN] and to compile you need the following tools:
{|
|'''Name'''
|'''Description'''
|'''URL'''
|-
|SVN
|Tool to access SVN and copy the files to your PC
|http://subversion.tigris.org
|-
|ANT
|Ant is the so called build tool. It compiles and creates the jar/exe file.
|http://ant.apache.org
|-
|valign=top|JDK
|The Java development kit. It contains the Java compiler and all required libraries to build TV-Browser.
|valign=top|http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp
|}

== Downloading TV-Browser from SVN ==

To download TV-Browser you have to enter the following:

svn co <nowiki>https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/tvbrowser/trunk</nowiki> tvbrowser

== Compiling TV-Browser ==

After downloading the files, they have to be compiled using Ant.

To do this you have to enter

ant runtime

Some alternative commands are also possible. You can find out about them using

ant

For example,

ant exe

creates a Windows exe file.

== Done ==

Now the runtime directory should contain a newly compiled TV-Browser build. Congratulations!

== TV-Browser and Eclipse ==
This is a guide about setting up TV-Browser in [http://www.eclipse.org Eclipse].

=== Preparations ===
You need the following to allow working on TV-Browser in Eclipse:

=== Checking out TV-Browser ===
Choose "File" -> "New" -> "Other" and then "SVN" "Checkout Project from SVN".

Now select "Create a new repository location". The URL should be '''<nowiki>https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/tvbrowser</nowiki>'''.
Enter "tvbrowser" in the "trunk" field; preferably create a new project (to do so select "Check out as a project configured using the New Project Wizard").

Now the computer will take some time to download everything. When it's done right click on the new project folder. Select "Properties" -> "Java-Build-Path" tab "Source" and click "Add folder"; select the ''src'' directory.

Done! If you're annoyed by the many warnings just exclude a few plugins from the src directory. To do this go to the same dialog as before: extend the folder and select "Excluded", click "Edit...". In the "Exclusion Patterns" group select "Add" and enter "*plugin". Now there should be no more unwanted messages.

==What is this?==

This plugin makes it possible to select several broadcasts and forward them to other plugins. At the moment this plugin is only useful together with the [[Calendar Export]] Plugin. You can create a list of broadcasts which can then be saved as vCal/iCal.

On longer terms it is planned to change all plugins (at least where it makes sense) so that they can forward and receive their lists. For instance the [[Print program|Printing Plugin]] can be named. Therefore it would be possible to copy a list of broadcasts to clipboard and print them together. Or to simply send all reminders of the [[Reminder]] Plugin to the [[Calendar Export]] Plugin.

==Configuration of the plugin==

To add a broadcast to the clipboard you have to click on it with the right mouse button. The context menu appears. There you choose ''copy to clipboard''. The broadcast is now copied to the clipboard.

To manage broadcasts or to send them to another plugin choose ''Clipboard'' in the ''Plugins'' menu. The following dialog appears:
[[Image:Clipboardplugin_dialog.png]]

In this dialog you can use the arrow buttons on the right side to change the order of the broadcasts. With the trash button under these buttons you can remove an entry from the list.

With the button on the lower left you can forward the selected broadcasts to another plugin. For instance you can save all appointments to a [[Calendar Export|vCal/iCal file]].

The second button on the lower left with the clipboard symbol is used to copy all broadcasts to the system clipboard.

[[de:Zwischenablage]]
Samvhttps://enwiki.tvbrowser.org/index.php?title=Filter_rules&diff=1536Filter rules2006-06-17T21:27:39Z
Samv: Added link to german version

== Filterrules ==
On the upper right of the TV-Browsers Iconbar (funnel-icon) you can filter out the broadcasts. You can see all broadcasts, only marked or you can define your own filter and use them here.

What does that mean?

For instance you can only show shows which are called "Zeit im Bild" and broadcasted on "ORF" or see only broadcasts which are longer than 40 minutes and stereo.

And now "How to do that?!":

As an example i will show you how to filter broadcasts stations (...and there are quite much more possiblities ;-))...

Behind the funnel-icon is a pulldown menu. By default the "show all" is marked, which will mean that no filter is set an you see all broadcasts from all stations. By choosing "Edit filter..." a window will show where you can define, redefine or delete your filtersets.

== Create a filter ==
In our case we want to add a new filter. So just click the "New..." Button ;-).

Now a dialog is presented with three areas:

''1. Filter name:''
Here you put the "prettyname" of the filter you are defining. In our case "Austrian Channels".

''2. Filter rule:''
Here the filterrules are defined. As the example shows you can link several filter components (more later in the text) and associate them using "and", "or", "not" also parenthesise is possible. But in our case we still do not have filter components, so let's goon there ;-)

''3. Filter components:''
Here you can see your defined filter components and define your statements which are used in your filter-queries . ATTENTION: All filter components you define are NOT unique for THIS filter. By deleting one you might kill some other filters!

== Create a filter component ==
Now we are going to create a filter component wich will filter for all austrian channels.

As first you have to click "New". Now there are also several things to be defined:

''1. Component name:''
That is the name of your filter component (NOT the name of the filter!).
In our case we will type in "AustrianChannels".

''2. Description:''
Here you should place a short description of you filter component. This will be show on the filter-editting-menu!
In our case "only austrian channels" that's okay, isn't it? ;-))

''3. Type:''
Now it is going to be interesting. Here you have to choose between the different possiblities. You can choose "Program length" (ie all programs longer than 20 minutes) or "Additional Information" (ie Subtitles). But in our case we want to see dedicated channels so we choose "Channel".

''4. Component settings''
Now you simply check all the channels you want. In our case the austrian like orf-1, orf-2, atv,...

That's it. Finish the definition part by clicking "OK" and your filter component is created. You can define some more filter components within this session and they will be link to the filter with an "or" statement automatically.

== Examples for filterrules ==

A detailed example can be found at: [[Filterrules_-_Example:_Subtitle| Filterrules - Example: Subtitle]] (to be written..)

== Program data quality ==

The program data is pass to us by the press office of each broadcast station.

As a matter of fact the received data is automatically processed and so the quality depends on the data which is presented to us.

Some broadcast stations give us XML-Data where the Informatoin is quite structured. Others just give us the information in a propritary and unstructured format like RTF.

The result is that you can see some broadcast stations where ie. the actors are seperated on some others they are not.
Or some stations pass us the information about the audioformat (mono, stereo, dual or Dolby-Surround) others don't.

Some Stations add some additional information, like information about the cast, this can't be seperated automatically and so these informations are within the description of the broadcast.

Also clasification of the data is not available (like: movie, quiz-show,...) and if it is available this data is also presented in a propritary format and also the content itself is not standard (ie one stations says "Documentation" the other will call it "Info-Show",...).

As a matter of fact we are free of charge and so we cannot reformat all the data by hand.

For everyone interested to present us data or who wants to know how the data is processed can find additional informations in our [[Providing_TV_listings|tutorial]].

[[de:Qualität der Daten]]
Samvhttps://enwiki.tvbrowser.org/index.php?title=Plugin&diff=1516Plugin2006-06-17T18:29:09Z
Samv: Translation from german wiki completed

Plugins are program modules which extend the basic functionality of TV-Browser.

A concept behind TV-Browser is that its program kernel remains small and slim. The kernel is just responsible for maintaining and displaying tv-data, as well as maintaining plugins and user settings. This ensures that the kernel program remains stable. Using plugins, the user can activate exactly the desired functions. Moreover plugins allow users to add new functionality.

There are two kinds of plugins:
* "normal" plugin
* TV-Data Services

The [[For Developers|developers area]] explains how to create your own plugins.

"Normal" Plugins

A so-called "normal" plugin extends TV-Browser by functionality which is related to tv-data. This might for instance be a service reminding the user if a certain show starts.

TV-Data Services

TV-data services supply TV-Browser with data. Every [[Update TV listings||update of the TV listings]] makes the TV-Data services download the new data.

TV-Browsers own TV-Data service can get listings of any number of servers that provide them in our format. How you can provide such a service yourself is explaine in the [http://www.tvbrowser.org/index.php?page=providetvlistings TV-Data tutorial].

This mechanism can in fact be used to provide all sorts of data from any source and in any format.

==Installation of Plugins==

To install plugins you can use the button ''Plugins->Manage Plugins->Update/Install plugins''.

Plugins downloaded from other sources (e.g., from the [http://www.tvbrowser.org/plugins.php plugin page]) have to be copied as a *.jar file into the ''plugins'' directory. In Mac OS this is the ''/Library/Application Support/TV-Browser/plugins'' directory.

Finally,you have to restart TV-Browser, [[Settings - Plugins|activate]] and possibly configure the plugin.

Data plugins can be found in [[Settings - TVDataServices]]. After configuring the plugin you have to [[Update Channel List|update your channel list]].

* Note for Mac OS X Users: the ''plugins'' directory is in ''Volume/Library/Application Support/TV-Browser/plugins''.

[[de:Plugin]]
Samvhttps://enwiki.tvbrowser.org/index.php?title=Parameter_System&diff=1514Parameter System2006-06-17T18:06:57Z
Samv: Added link to german version

== What is the "Parameter System"? ==

The Parameter System enables dynamic generated Text. This is used pass text-passages to create the EMails in the EMail-Plugin. In the Capture-Plugin it is used to pass the parameters to 3rd party applications like WinTV.

== Assembly ==

The assembly of the Parameter System is quite simple. All text which is embedded by { and } will represent variables or function results.

For example the result of the following text will be:
The Title is {title}

when the name of the broadcast is "Hello, Spencer!"
The Title is Hello, Spencer!

You are also able to use functions to combine or split text.

For example:

The Title is {isset(original_title, title)}
in this case the original Title will be used, if this is not present the tilte of the broadcast is valid.

Also interleaving of functions or possible:
The Titel is {clean(isset(original_title, title))}

Now all special characters will be replaced by underscores "_" .

You can also use your own "Parameter-Text-BLocks":
The original Title is {isset(original_title, "not present!")}

Now the original title of the broadcast will be replaced by "not present" if it is not available
The original Title is not present!

The complete List of parameters and functions are placed in each Plugin you use.
Why this? Because each Plugin can add functions and parameters.

== Special Characters ==
If you want to use special characters like '\', '{' or '}' they have to be prefixed with a '\' (backslash).

This means:
{| border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="3"
!Input
!Result
|-
|<nowiki>\\</nowiki>
|<nowiki>\</nowiki>
|-
|<nowiki>\\\\</nowiki>
|<nowiki>\\</nowiki>
|-
|<nowiki>\{</nowiki>
|<nowiki>{</nowiki>
|-
|<nowiki>\}</nowiki>
|<nowiki>}</nowiki>
|-
|}

"Normal" Plugins

A so-called "normal" plugin extends TV-Browser by functionality which is related to tv-data. This might for instance be a service reminding the user if a certain show starts.

TV-Data Services

TV-data services supply TV-Browser with data.
[[de:Plugin]]
Samvhttps://enwiki.tvbrowser.org/index.php?title=FAQ&diff=1502FAQ2006-06-17T14:46:23Z
Samv: /* TV-Browser doesn't load new Program-Data */

==General==
===What is TV-Browser?===

TV-Browser is a digital TV guide. With TV-Browser you can load the current TV program from the internet. The data can be viewed offline so there is no need for a continuous online connection.

===Which operating systems does TV-Browser run on?===

TV-Browser will run on all OS for which a Java Runtime Environment is available.
Normally this is the case for all desktop systems. The [http://jdl.sun.com/webapps/getjava/BrowserRedirect?locale=en&host=java.com Sun Java Runtime Environment] must be installed prior to installing TV-Browser.

Java installation instructions can be found [[Java_installation|here]].

===Why is TV-Browser for free?===

The TV program data is put at our disposal free of charge. The servers from which TV-Browser loads the data are provided by users who support us. Besides that we just like working on this project.

===Where is the distinction between TV-Browser and similar commercial and non-gratuitous services?===

Paid services engage professional editorial staff that prepare the program data or buy prepared data from another service. This is accordingly cost intensive.

Our data is prepared automatically. Therefore we only need to maintain and improve the software that prepares the data.

==Provided channels==
===Which channels are provided by TV-Browser?===

A list of all currently offered channels can be found [http://www.tvbrowser.org/component/option,com_tvbchannellist/Itemid,34 here].

===Does TV-Browser support radio stations?===

We are currently providing a few programs of radio stations. Possibly more will follow.

===I'm missing the channel $FAVORITECHANNEL - can you provide this channel?===

As for all channels, we first need the authorization to publicize the data.
Then the data has to be edited so that TV-Browser can use them. This can be done automatically, but must be prepared and maintained.

We currently provide over 50 channels. The more channels we provide the more effort is needed to maintain them, so we can't provide arbitrary many channels.

But TV-Browser offers the possibility to use channels not provided by us directly.

===Which possibilities do I have to import my own TV-data into TV-Browser?===

TV-Browser offers a Plugin-Interface for Data-Import. This allows TV-Data to be imported into TV-Browser. Information on importing data can be found in the [[Offering personal TV-Data|Developers-Section]].

Meanwhile offering personal TV-Data has been made easy with our [http://tvbrowser.org/index.php?page=providetvlistings TV-Data-Starterkit].

===What are Channel groups?===

We implemented Channel groups so that Program-Data can be offered by third parties as well and not just by us.

By adding a Channel group URL in the TV-Browser settings, TV-Browser can access all Channel data available for that Channel group.
How to add a Channel group is described [[Update Channel List|here]].

==Solving problems==

===TV-Browser doesn't load new Program-Data===

A internet connection is necessary to update Program-Data. Check if TV-Browser can access the internet.

See also [[How to fix update problems]].

Check if the clock of your operating system is configured correctly. This step is necessary for TV-Browser to update the right Program-Data from the different TV Channels. Otherwise it can occur that TV-Browser doesn't load the required Data because he expects the Data to be obsolete.
[[de:FAQ]]
Samvhttps://enwiki.tvbrowser.org/index.php?title=How_to_fix_update_problems&diff=1490How to fix update problems2006-06-17T13:00:08Z
Samv: /* Only some days/channels are missing */

==No connection==

===Correct date?===

If no error message appears but nothing new is downloaded, check the date settings of your computer!

===Is a Firewall installed?===

Your [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firewall_%28networking%29 firewall] should allow the process ''javaw.exe'' to use outgoing port 80. You can read about how to do this in the documentation of your firewall or in this [[Firewalls|guide]].

===Is GData Antivir installed?===

GData Antivir has problems if internet traffic monitoring is enabled. Please disable internet traffic monitoring.

===Is a proxy installed?===

If you are using a [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy_server proxy server], you have to set it up in TV-Browser [[Settings - Proxy]].

===Is the data path correct?===

Make sure the path entered in ''TV-Browser/Settings.../Technical settings/Directories'' exists.

==Only some days/channels are missing==

If only the data of some days or channels are missing you should first check
[http://tvbrowser.awn-design.de/tvbrowser/ here] or [http://sender.wannawork.de here] if the data for that day is available.

If that's the case you should update a second time. Sometimes you encounter a [[Mirrors|mirror server]] that is not completely up to date.

If this doesn't help you should remove all files with names starting with 200*_ in ''Install path''/tvdata/tvbrowserdataservice.TvBrowserDataService. These contain the data of the servers.

Also remove all files in ''Install path''/tvdata with de_ or at_ and try to update again. If this still doesn't work ask in our [http://forum.tvbrowser.org forum].

=== General ===
With the introduction of version 1.1 it is possible to navigate through the program table. The current selected show is highlighted.

http://wiki.tvbrowser.org/images/0/05/Tastaturmarkierung.jpg

At the beginning of the keyboard-navigation the first highlighted show is the first current show in the first program. If there is another show highlighted, the operation of the Keyboard operation will be started there. The highlighting is also used for certain mouse-operations. If an end of the program table is reached, another keyboard command in the direction of the end of the table brings you to the opposite end of the table, e.g. if you are on the left side of the table and you want to move further on to the left side through the program table, the program table will wrap around to the right side.

'''Shows that are already expired can't be selected by keyboard.'''

=== Commands ===
The following commands are defined for Keyboard operations:

'''CTRL + Cursor:''' navigates through the program table in the direction of the cursor keys

'''CTRL + D:''' unmark the current highlighting

'''CTRL + P:''' switches to the day before

'''CTRL + N:''' switches to the next day

'''D:''' simulates a mouse-double-click on the current highlighted show

'''M:''' simulates a mouse-middle-click on the current highlighted show

'''R or the context-menu-key (from JRE 5.0):''' opens the context-menu of the highlighted show

The following commands are available in combination with the mouse:

'''Shift + left-click:''' highlight the current show/unmark the current show

'''Shift + left-click + drag the mouse with the left button pressed:''' start the dragging of the show (the target of the dragging are the plugins in the plugin-overview)

[[Image:Tvbrowser_mainscreen.jpg]]

TV-Browser's GUI is seperated in multiple sections.

==Program table==

In the center of the screen you will find the program table. It lists the TV stations and their shows. Shows that are currently running are highlighted in blue. A darker and a lighter shadow indicate how many percent of the show are already over. The darker section will continue to move downwards as the show is running. A show that has mostly a light shadow has started just recently. If it has mostly dark shadow, then it it going to end soon.

Shows that have already aired are displayed in a gray font and with faded out icons. Shows that are still about to be aired have black font and normal icons.

Additionally, shows can be marked by [[plugin]]s. These shows are highlighted in red and have an icon in the bottom right corner for every plugin that marked this show. In the example picture above, the show ''Kronzuckers Kosmos'' has been marked by the [[Reminder]] plugin.

Further icons may be displayed underneath the starting time (see [[explanation of symbols]]). Each plugin can display icons of its own in addition to the default icons. For example, all shows display the pie chart icon provided by the [[TV evaluations]] plugin. You can choose which icons will be displayed in which order in the [[settings]] dialog. If there is not enough space to display all neccessary icons, TV Browser will only show as much icons as there is space available, according to the order you selected.

==Plugin overview==

In this overview you can easily see which plugins have currently marked which TV shows. Each plugin can control the tree structure in its own way. For example, in capture plugin each capture device has its own branch and in favorite shows plugin it is the same for every of your favorite shows.

This is the ideal place to have a quick look which reminders are currently pending.

The tree is also ideal to create a quick print list. You can click the right mouse button on every folder and export its contents to another plugin, for example the print plugin. This way it is no problem to for example print all reminders for next week or the air times of a particular favorite show.

==Toolbar==

Just above the program table there is TV Browser's toolbar. It provides the possibility to quickly access all the [[plugin]]s. It can be configured in the [[settings - configure toolbar]] dialog.

==Time buttons==

Right of the program table you will find buttons with times on them. They allow you to quickly jump to these times of the day.

==Day list==

Underneath the time buttons you have the possibility to select the day for the program table. Of course you can only select those days for which TV Browser has already downloaded data. For legal reasons, it is unfortunately impossible to go more than one day back "into the past".

==Channel list==

The last section on the right hand side is the channel list. Here you can quickly jump to a certain station.

==Miscellaneous==

TV Browser's GUI can be customized in many ways. For example, you may choose to show or hide single elements. Further possibilities of customization are explained under [[Settings]].

== What's this? ==

The e-mail plug-in allows you to transfer a broadcast to your e-mail handler and to send e-mails containing information on a broadcast.

== Using the plug-in ==

Using the plug-in is easy. You can simply right-click on a broadcast and choose the plug-in from the context menu. Or you export a broadcast into this plug-in by double-clicking on the broadcast and choosing "Send via e-mail" from the "Functions" menu on the left. In both cases, a n e-mail will be generated containing all the information on all the broadcasts.

== Configuration ==

[[Bild:Plugins_EMail.png]]

'''Use default e-mail handler''' is set as default and the plug-in will try to use the e-mail handler on your system which you have chosen as default. If this does not work or if you would like to use a different e-mail handler, please un-check this option and specify the program manually. Please also specify a parameter for sending the e-mail in the parameter line. In most cases {0} will do as default setting. If not, please enter the address you would like to send your e-mail to. {0} will then be replaced by "mailto:[youraddress@xyz.com]".

In order to change the setting for text layout and font, please click on '''Additional settings'''. The following pop-up window will open:

[[Bild:Plugins_EMail_Erweitert.png]]

Your entry under "Parameter" will then be saved in a certain character set. UTF8 should be working in most cases. If you are having problems with umlauts or similar characters, you should try a different character set, e.g. ISO-8859-1 which is widely in use.

Finally, you may layout your message text according to your wishes. If your would like to do that, please read [[Parametersystem|hier]] before doing so.

== What is the reminder? ==

The Reminder does exactly, what the title of the topic makes you think about. It reminds you about shows, you would like to watch. Be aware, that it can only remind you, of the TV Browser program is running in the background!

== Settings ==

[[Image:reminder_settings.png]]

You can choose, in which way you would like to get reminded.
* reminder window
A dialog pops up with details about the show you get reminded about.
* play sound
The chosen sound will be played. The possible sata types are wav, aif, rmf, au or midi
* run application
Starts an external program. The parametersystem gets used for this.

It can even be arranged, that the reminded show gets handed over to plugins. To do this choose behind '''Send reminded program to''' the plugin you would like to use.

If you woukd like to get reminded by a window, you can set the time to pass until die dialog closes again.

You can choose a standard time the reminder will use by creating a memory.

If you would like to get asked for how long the window will pop up when creating a memory choose '''Show time selection dialog'''

==Reminder==

[[Image:Reminder_Dialog.png]]

Use the menu '''Plugins->Edit reminder list...''' to get to the reminder overview. Here you can select reminders and remove them by clicking the trash can.

You can adjust the reminder time by clicking the edit symbol or by double clicking the cell in the second colum.

To add a show to the list right click its entry in the program table and select "Remind me" in the popup menu.

To export a show to a plugin click the middle button of the three on the bottom left while the show is selected. This way you can easily print all reminders for example. To do that you just export them to the [[Print program|print plugin]].

The settings button onn the left opens the settings page of the reminder.

==What's this?==

The '''Capture Plugin''' makes it possible to control other programs and devices by the TV-Browser. This ist especially made for programming
of recordings. But it is very flexible. There is nearly nothing you can't do with this plugin and some scripts. For example switching to the chosen broadcast.
Some users have posted different configurations in the [http://forum.tvbrowser.org Forum]. We'll show them in the [[CapturePlugin - example configurations|list of example configurations]].

==Configuration of the Plugin==

===List of recordings===

[[Image:Plugin_CapturePlugin_Settings_List.png]]

When you start the program you'll first see the list of programmed recordings. Please note that this list isn't always complete. If you record broadcastings directly with your device/program they will probably not appear here. Please always check the display or output of your device/program.

With the wastebasket-symbol on the rigt you can delete recordings out of the list. They will be deleted out of the device/program, too.

===List of devices===

[[Image:Plugin_CapturePlugin_Settings_Devices.png]]

In the device-area you can add new devices. A "device" is the connection to one of your programs or devices. For example you can control a Set-Top-Box with a program on your PC.
