The ShowView number calculator plugin tries to compute the missing Showview/VCRPlus/VideoPlus /G-Code numbers after each tv-data update. To makes this work one has to do nothing but to activate the plugin (what should be the case normally)...

For the calculation the plugin uses the algorithm of Gerhard Zelczak. It is not the original algorithm which is kept secret by the company Gemstar (and is being expensively sold as hardware). The Algorithm of Gerhard Zelczak has been developed by a few mathematicians and is not yet capable to create perfect Showview-Codes.

Therefore it is possible that there can´t be provided a code for every programme. Except of this it can happen that the generated code records to much, for instance starts to record 15 min. earlier or ends it later.

Furthermore it is not yet known, which code number certain stations use, so for some stations it is not possible to create codes at all. To be exact the conversion of Guide Channel Numbers (GCN)into code numbers is missing.
